Life becomes engaging when problems happen.

Almost seven months are completed in 2025. What a year! It is bursting out and still ticking. And there are five months to go. Is it a blessing or a curse? When I think about it, it feels unpredictable. If 2026 turns out to be a good year, we can say that it was a blessing. But who knows?

Once you have finished your early 20s, no matter what, troubles come to you. We will not be able to escape from every dilemma. We can only deal with them or ignore them — and ignoring usually makes things worse.

What is a trouble?

A trouble is an obstacle that makes us worry and shifts our focus away from the blessings in life, forcing us to concentrate on its inconveniences instead.

I came back from an onsite assignment to my new home. I was peacefully living there, working from home, enjoying my mother’s food, and doing nothing more than my desk job. The only problem was friends — I was not meeting them like in the old days. Life had become a routine. Then came the trouble.

“Due to heavy rain and storm in Kerala, there was a lot of damage caused to houses, buildings, and other properties.”

Our house was also affected by these rains. The teak tree near the house fell on the roof, damaging the roofing tiles and the parapet. The construction had not even been completed for six months. It’s too sad to see something we built fail to fulfill even the minimum expectations.

But there is a task on my to-do list: time to learn the next step. I came to know that there is an insurance policy as part of the home loan. But there were no policy documents. I contacted the bank team, and they forwarded the case to the insurance department. Luckily, we had insurance and were eligible for a refund according to the policy.

Today, the insurance person will come to inspect the damages. It’s been almost a week since I reported the incident. We need proper follow-up to get information and have the insurance claim raised. But once it reaches the insurance department, things should move fast.

Life doesn’t always go as planned, and troubles often arrive uninvited. But every problem brings a chance to learn, adapt, and move forward. This incident reminded me that while challenges test our patience, they also reveal the support and solutions we might not have noticed before.
